Keep Alliance Beautiful is proud and pleased to announce that recycling in Alliance will reopen on Earth Day, April 22, 2015.
Keep Alliance Beautiful and the City of Alliance have been cooperating to find the best way to go forward with recycling. After an extensive search, KAB has rented a building that provides excellent facilities for carrying recycling into the future.
Visit KAB on Earth Day at the new center at 107 ½ Cheyenne Ave (the entrance is from the alley between Cheyenne and Laramie) between 10 AM and 3 PM to view the facility. Both balers are installed; there is ample room to store the bales to prevent contamination; and no water has leaked in during recent rainstorms.
The recycling trailers will be taken to their usual places, also on Earth Day, April 22, 2015.
“Getting recycling going in Alliance is a major step forward for Keep Alliance Beautiful, the City Government, and the people of Alliance”, said Ian Devereaux, interim Executive Director of Keep Alliance Beautiful. “Now you can empty all that stuff from your garage that you weren’t supposed to be saving.”
Recycling in Alliance is managed by Keep Alliance Beautiful with monetary support from the City of Alliance and Box Butte County, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, and the Nebraska Environmental Trust.
