ALLIANCE POLICE DEPT. INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY

The Alliance Police Department and Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery call at the Shopko Pharmacy located at 312 Flack Avenue  at about 12:13 p.m. Monday.  Employees told officers that the pharmacy had been robbed at gunpoint and the suspect had left the store shortly before officers arrived.  According the the press release, the suspect pointed two handguns at the pharmacist and stole two bottles of medication. No one  was injured during the robbery and no cash was taken.

Area schools were locked down for over an hour while officers searched for the suspect. The suspect was not located and suspect’s identity is not known at this time. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male about 6’ tall and 240 pounds with short brown or blond hair and about a three day growth of beard. He was wearing a black ball cap, dark grey western style long­sleeve shirt with thin vertical pinstripes and blue jeans. Witnesses described his age as being anywhere from late twenties to forty years of age. He is believed to have left the area westbound on Fourth Street. No vehicle was seen.
