Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug says the unattended death of a rural Chadron man on Sunday involved unusual enough circumstances to justify an autopsy and toxicological screening.

The body of 75-year old Randall Beaver was found in his home by a friend with Haug and law enforcement officers dispatched about noon.

Haug says that a preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play, the autopsy and screen should answer any lingering questions. He expects the autopsy and initial screening results to completed early this week, although final test reports could take several weeks.
