Northern Illinois is BCS buster

MIAMI (AP) — The final standings are out, and Northern Illinois is the first team from the Mid-American Conference to be selected to play in a BCS Bowl game. The Huskies will face traditional ACC power Florida State in the Orange Bowl.

It comes as no surprise that unbeaten Notre Dame and one-loss Alabama will meet in the title game on Jan. 7 in Miami.
