BROKEN BOW, Neb. (AP) — Broken Bow voters have decided not to change their form of municipal government to one headed by a city manager.
More than 54 percent of voters rejected the measure on Tuesday.
Many of the city’s current management duties are handled by the mayor, acting on advice from a city administrator. A city manager would have had power to act on the city’s day-to-day business, like the CEO of a major business. The City Council would have acted as a board of directors, focused on a long-term vision.
