CITY OF ALLIANCE ACTIVITY REPORT — JULY 11

Welcome to the City of Alliance Activity Report

— Sky View Golf Course will be hosting the Panhandle Round Up Member/Guest tournament this weekend.  Tee times will be necessary all day today to accommodate practice rounds.  A Par 3 tournament will be held this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. for players in the tournament.  The course will be open for after tournament play at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 and after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.  Please call the golf course at 762-1446 for more details.

— There will be no Summer Concert Series performance at the Alliance Public Library on Thursday, July 17th due to the Heritage Days celebration.  The next performance will take place on Thursday, July 24th.

— A head to head competition modeled after the hit MTV show Silent Library, will take place at the Alliance Public Library onTuesday, July 15th beginning at 1:00 p.m. Registration is now open for teams of four consisting of two boys and two girls between the ages of 14 and 19 competing to win $100.00 in Chamber bucks.  Teams will face challenges of physical endurance and mental stamina while attempting to remain as silent as possible!  Registration forms and complete details are available at the Alliance Public Library!

— The Alliance City Council will conduct a regular meeting Tuesday, July 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room located at 1604 Sweetwater Avenue.  Complete agendas and minutes may be viewed on the City’s webpage atcityofalliance.net.

— Mark your calendars for the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Miss Flame Pageant which will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.  Anyone wishing to participate may pick up an application and a list of rules at the fire station.

— Beginning Tuesday, July 15, several streets will be closed or restricted to one-way traffic due to the Heritage Days celebration.  Please exercise caution while driving near those areas.
