JUSTIN BIEBER PLEADS NO-CONTEST TO EGGING
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Justin Bieber will have to shell out more than $80,000 — for egging a neighbor’s home. The singer has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor vandalism charge for chucking eggs at the neighbor. For a time, it seemed prosecutors in the Los Angeles area were considering filing a felony rap against the singer because the damage caused by the January egging passed the $400 threshold for a more serious charge. But with the no-contest plea, Bieber also agrees to pay damages and serve two years on probation. He is also being ordered to stay away from the neighbor and his family, take anger management and do five days community labor.
BRAZILIANS BLAME WORLD CUP LOSS ON MICK JAGGER
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was bad enough that Mick Jagger was blamed for supporting teams in the World Cup that ended up losing. Now he’s being blamed for a loss merely because he showed up to a game. Billboard reports Brazil fans are pinning their frustrations over a 7-to-1 loss to Germany on Jagger because he watched Tuesday’s game from a VIP box. Jagger was wearing an England cap, not anything Brazilian. Some Brazilian fans have made cardboard cutouts of Jagger wearing the opposing team’s shirts, and other have nicknamed him “the jinx.” Jagger supports England but that team was knocked out by Uruguay. He said Italy would defeat Uruguay, but that was incorrect. He predicted Portugal would win it all.

ROBIN THICKE’S BLUES
NEW YORK (AP) — Robin Thicke isn’t exactly getting it done in the wooing department. His public begging to get his wife, actress Paula Patton, back so far haven’t yielded fruit. And it looks like he’s also having trouble getting fans back after his smash album last year. Thicke’s latest project, “Paula,” sold only 24,000 copies in its debut week. By contrast, “Blurred Lines” sold 177,000 when it dropped this time last year. That project featured “Blurred Lines” — a track produced by Pharrell Williams that became last year’s top song. At least one industry insider says Thicke’s over-the-top efforts to get his wife back may be turning music fans off.
