DUBLIN SAYS NO TO GARTH BROOKS SHOWS
DUBLIN (AP) — Garth Brooks’ all-or-nothing approach to doing concerts in Ireland means he’s left with nothing. Brooks was going to stage two “Comeback Special” concerts at Croke Park stadium in Dublin later this month, but because of demand, he expanded it to five concerts.
Nearby residents complained.
Dublin City Council refused to grant permission for five shows, saying it would cause too much disruption for residents and businesses. Brooks said he’d play five shows or no shows, because picking which shows to do would be like choosing one child over another. Promoter Peter Aiken says attempts at an agreement have failed and no concerts will take place.
In other Brooks news, he will stream a press conference tomorrow on GarthBrooks.com.
