There will apparently be a new Dawes County Commissioner next year. Final unofficial totals in District 2 show challenger Vic Rivera defeating incumbent Stacy Swinny 176-159…52%-47% and a difference of 17 votes.

In the other Dawes County race, District 1 Commissioner Jake Stewart was an easy winner over Wayne Fisher 279-178 or 61%-39% with a 101 vote margin.

With no Democrat having filed for either position, Stewart and Rivera will be unopposed on the November ballot unless someone else files a late petition.
