The popular St. John’s Brass will host a benefit for Alliance Middle School Principal Katie White Friday, May 9, at 5 pm, at St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 21st and Emerson in Alliance.

White’s husband, George White, passed away on April 6 after battling several health issues.

Alliance Middle School Band Director Laura Mangas, who is a member of St. John’s Brass, says the fundraiser will include a bake sale, meal, and concert.  Mangas says the music that the brass will offer will be similar to the concert they performed at the recent Kiwanis Club Stars of Tomorrow contest.  There will be a free will offering for the meal and concert and proceeds will be used to help pay for medical expenses that insurance did not cover.
