LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has awarded 11 grants totaling nearly $100,000 to promote outdoor recreation and spur tourism and economic development.

Preference was given to campaigns promoting Game and Parks’ public areas and supporting outdoor recreation, conservation and stewardship initiatives.

Grant winners included the Better Ponca Foundation, the Burwell Area/Garfield County Visitors Bureau, the city of Seward and the Southwest Nebraska Resource Conservation and Development District.
