A Colorado man who led local law enforcement on a high speed chase through open fields in eastern Box Butte County and southwest Sheridan County in January has pleaded guilty to Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest.
30-year-old Ryan Riddle is scheduled to be sentenced on May 28.
Riddle is being held in the Box Butte County Jail on $100,000 bond.
Riddle and his passenger, 22-year-old Rebecca Melzo, also of Greeley, Colorado, managed to avoid law enforcement for three days and three nights before turning themselves in and being apprehended in Hay Springs.
After being taken into custody, Riddle stated that he fled because he had methampetamine and marijuana in his possession, as well as stolen property. Warrants had also been issued in Colorado for his arrest.
He began fleeing from a state trooper after being clocked traveling 58 mph in a 45 mph zone west of Alliance on Highway 385.
