ABRAHAM S. ESCAMILLA SR. 77

Abraham S. Escamilla Sr., 77, of Scottsbluff passed away November 3, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:30, November 8, at Assembly of God Church, 1709 East 27th Street, in Scottsbluff with Pastors Ken Maldonado and Dan Escamilla officiating.  Inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9th at Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer on Wednesday, November 7th from 12-8 p.m.   A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church and tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com

Abraham was born September 9, 1935 in Gering, Nebraska to Jose and Rita (Sabala) Escamilla.  He received his early education at various area schools.  He married Lupe Perez on February 21, 1955 in Scottsbluff at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  They made their home in Scottsbluff and owned and operated National Janitorial Service for more than 50 years.

He was a member of the Scottsbluff Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he was head Elder at the time of his death.  One of Abraham’s favorite past times was racing, working on and customizing cars.   This was second to his family and sharing Christ.  He was always ready and willing to help anybody that needed it.

Abraham is survived by his sons, Abraham (Stella) Escamilla Jr., Gabriel (Lisa) Escamilla Sr., Manuel (Nancy) Escamilla, Harold (Julie) Escamilla; daughters, Nancy (Daniel) Gamboa, and Kim Wachter, 23 grandchildren; and 34 great-grand children.

Preceding Abraham in death is his wife, Lupe; parents, Jose and Rita Escamilla; a grandson, Joel A. Escamilla; two great-grandchildren, Xavier Escamilla and Anthony Gonzales III; Sister, Angelita Escamilla; and brothers, Tony , Rudy, and Alvaro Escamilla.
