SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) – Officials say they’ve fixed an intake valve in Lake Minatare that was clogged and unable to deliver water to some irrigators.
The Pathfinder Irrigation District says the clog became loose Tuesday following work on the valve inlet. The repair forced water to shoot up at least six feet in the air.
However, it could take a few days before the valve delivers water again to irrigators.
This is the first time the lake’s intake valve became clogged since it was added to the middle of the reservoir in 1951.
The Pathfinder Irrigation District operates the North Platte Project, an irrigation project that extends more than 100 miles along the North Platte River Valley between Nebraska and Wyoming.
