Lyons, NE – The Center for Rural Affairs will offer a free policy advocacy and leadership training in Chadron later this month on Friday the 28th. The place is the Chadron State College Student Center and the time is10:00 a.m to 2:30 p.m.
Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
CRA spokesman Virginia Meyer says the purpose of the training is to develop a core group of active leaders to speak up and advocate for policies that benefit rural Nebraskans…including affordable health care, entrepreneurial development, small business and fair taxes.
The workshop will help participants gain the skills they need to be successful advocates and work with legislators and other decision makers to advance their views as well identifying strategies and tactics to gain influence on rural issues, and working with the media to tell their story.
Meyer says rural health care affordability, small business entrepreneurship and fair Nebraska tax policy will also be discussed because the CRA wants “to hear what issues are important to people in western Nebraska…adding that anyone who wants to discuss a challenge or issue they are experiencing in their community is encouraged to attend.
Space is limited, so an RSVP is required no later than June 26 by emailing Meyer at [email protected] or calling her at 402-687-2100.
