The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has officially approved the tuition freeze specifically funded in the state’s 2-year budget approved late last month.
Officials say the freeze...which applies to only resident rates…will save undergraduates about $1,000 over two years.
The freeze will mark the first time tuition at any of the 4 campuses…UNL, UNO, UNK, and the medical school…hasn’t gone up since 1990. Nonresident tuition will go up 3%.
The Regents also approved a 3%raise for faculty and staff separate from the 2% raises for the next 2 years won by unionize faculty at UNK and UNO through collective bargaining.
