NASHVILLE (AP) – Vince Vaughn and Kelsey Grammer are presenters at tonight’s CMT Awards, even though they have nothing to do with country music. Vaughn is a country music fan. Dax Shepard, AnnaSophia Robb and Lorraine Bracco will also give out awards. So will Scotty McCreery, Lisa Marie Presley and Larry the Cable Guy. Eric Church, Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert have four nominations each.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Lots of people have heard Carrie Underwood’s hit “See You Again.” But not like she will sing it tonight at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville. Underwood will do “See You Again” at a slower tempo with a church choir backing her — as she turns the song into a tribute to victims of the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma.
After rehearsing last night, Underwood says having a choir in the mix takes the song “to a whole ethereal place.” During tonight’s broadcast of the awards, viewers will be encouraged to donate to relief efforts to help tornado victims.
Twisters have killed dozens in Oklahoma in the last two weeks, leading to an outpouring of support from country music stars. Underwood is among the Oklahoma natives who have pitched in to help.
