Memorial services for Charles “Chuck” Toof of Hay Springs will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs with Reverend Fred Andersen and Reverend Al Trucano officiating.  Burial with military honors will be at the Hay Springs Cemetery.

Charles “Chuck” Feddersen Toof, 72, of Hay Springs, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital.

Chuck was born December 7, 1940 in Hay Springs, Nebraska to Vernon and Thyra (Feddersen) Toof.  As a young man, he lived with his family in Hay Springs.  Chuck graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1959.  He entered the Marine Corp in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963.

Chuck met and married Sharon (Jensen) Toof on May 29, 1967.  They made their home in Hay Springs were Chuck began his 50 year trucking career with Toof Transfer, Inc.

His survivors include wife, Sharon and children Alan (Kristi) Toof of Chadron; Darla (Scot) Sharp of Gordon, and Charles W. “Fred” (Nikki) Toof of Hay Springs, NE; grandchildren Nate, Nick and Courtney Toof, Ryan (Casey) Sharp, Becca (Jeff) Nemecek, Dalton Toof, Johnny, Tony and Samantha Morrison; great grandchildren Rylee and Peyton Sharp, Jared, Madisyn and Lexi Nemecek; sisters, Avis Summerville of Hay Springs, Sandra (Don) Johnson of Omaha, NE, and Suzanne Graham of Lincoln, NE.  Chuck is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Thyra; brothers Ronnie and Donnie Toof; sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Elizabeth Carter.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Ryan, Nate, Nick, Dalton, Tony, and Johnny.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Ginkins, Mark Kruger, Pete Elwood, Bernard Jones, Lee Garrett and Art Lipps.
