Alliance High School senior Shae Brennan has signed with Midland University in Fremont, NE to play basketball next year.
Midland University Coach Matt Frittsche, who is in his first year with the Warriors, told the Alliance Times-Herald that he saw Brennan play last summer and believes “she is an underrated basketball player.” Frittsche went on to say, “now if we can get her healthy and keep her healthy.”
Brennan had two knee injuries in her Alliance career, suffering one in volleyball as a sophomore and the other last December while playing basketball.
Brennan’s goal has been to play basketball at the next level, and she says she chose Midland because of its academic and athletic reputation, as well as location.
“Midland is close to Omaha and Lincoln,” she told the Times-Herald. “But Fremont is still a small town. The school has a really good academic record and their athletic program is great.”
Midland’s season begins November 1 at home against Dakota State.
Shae is the daughter of Matt and Lori Brennan of rural Ellsworth.
