SETH MEYERS LEAVING ‘SNL’ FOR ‘LATE NIGHT’; STEFON REPORTEDLY INCONSOLABLE

Saturday Night Live

NEW YORK (AP) – Big news for Seth Meyers – and no, it’s not the fake kind he’s used to delivering from the “Weekend Update” desk. He’s getting his own show, moving from “Saturday Night Live” to the late night spot on NBC that used to be held by the likes of David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon. NBC says Meyers will step into Jimmy Fallon’s slot when Fallon moves up an hour to replace Jay Leno on the “Tonight” Show. Meyers is 39 – and has been the head writer at “Saturday Night Live” for eight seasons, all but one as “Weekend Update” host.
