City of Alliance Electric Customers will be without power for up to one hour this Sunday morning beginning at five o’clock.

Alliance City Manager J.D. Cox says city electric crews have been given permission from the city’s electric supplier, the Western Area Power Administration to to repair a piece of equipment in the WAPA substation west of Alliance that failed, causing a three-hour power outage on June 20 of last year.

Cox says the city’s electric generation system near Third and Cody will kick in which will supply electricity to West Third Street and portions of the downtown business district. Again that outage … which is scheduled to last for up to an hour … will take place this Sunday morning, May 5, at 5 o’clock.
