CSC GOLF FINISHES 6TH, MORELAND 6TH INDIVIDUALLY

PUEBLO, Colo. – Chadron State College’s Karissa Moreland  finished in sixth place at the ThunderWolf Ladies Spring Invitational Sunday in Pueblo, Colo, the same spot her team did in the 9-school invitational.

Moreland shaved 5 strokes off her first-day score Sunday with an 81…the second biggest improvement on the day among those who shot under 100 in the opening round…to finish at 167. Emma Harris also added a top 20 finish, carding a 178 to tie for 16th.
As for the rest of the Eagles, Darcy Vernon shot 186, Schuyler Wetzel finished with 189 and Emilee Pilkington carded a 198. All 3 had lower scores on Saturday than on Sunday.

CSC as a team was 2 strokes higher in the second round than in the first…with their 359-361-720 just 7 strokes out of 4th place.  Host CSU-Pueblo cruised to the team title with a 644…48 strokes better than runnerup Regis, a Pueblo school record for margin of victory.

The Thunderwolves were led by individual champion Hee-Leina Kim, who shot a 77-75-152 to beat teammate Dominique Dinallo by 8 strokes and Nicole Hulbert of Regis by 11.

Chadron State’s next action will be this Thursday, April 11, in a triangular in Spearfish with South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State.
