KNEB Radio in Scottsbluff reports the Nebraska State Patrol says the 2007 Dodge Caravan, driven by 81-year-old Harland Hockenberry of Onalaska, Wisconsin was eastbound on the L-62A Spur and went through the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 385. The intersection is commonly known as the Angora Junction.
The Patrol says the vehicle stayed upright, but ended some 300 feet into the adjacent pasture. Both Hockenberry and his wife, who was a front seat passenger, were transported to Morrill County Community Hosptial in Bridgeport. It was unknown whether or not those two were wearing seat belts.
Two backseat passengers, whose names were not released, were transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. The Patrol said these two passengers were not wearing restraints.
The extent of the injuries or the conditions of the victims is unknown. The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Friday morning, and the vehicle was totaled.
