March 5, 2013
Dear St. Agnes Family,
This week at St. Agnes is such a busy week. The play production, Flat Stanley, will have its final run on Friday at 7 PM. Today we had a matinee performance at 1 PM as well as the evening showing at 7 PM.
The St. Agnes Academy 8th Grade Yearbook staff has completed and submitted the school’s 2012-2013 yearbook to its professional publisher, Jostens. Purchased yearbooks will be distributed on May 17 after the end of the year All School Mass. All books are $20 and checks should be made payable to St. Agnes Academy. Yearbook orders are due paid in full by Monday, March 11. Please turn your orders into Mrs. Gould, Mrs. McGhehey or any 8th grade student. Thank you for your support.
REMINDER: Pizza pick-up day is March 6, from 2-4 pm in the Parish Center Gym. We have 5 breakfast pizzas, 1 pepperoni pizza, 5 supreme pizzas and 1 sausage/pepperoni pizza that we need to sell. They are $11 each. If you are interested please call the school.
Parents Inc will be serving lunch next Wednesday, March 13. They will serve Sam and Louie’s pizza, carrots, cookies and milk. The cost is $2.50, with each additional slice of pizza costing $1.00. Students can choose between cheese and pepperoni. Volunteers are needed to help serve that day. Please call Lindsey Chasek, 760-1619, to volunteer. There will be no hot lunch served that day.
A reminder that March is 2nd and 3rd grades’ month to help volunteer in the lunchroom.
The St. Agnes Calendar Lottery winners for March are Renee Smith, Kenny Preiss and Wendy Fritlzer, all off Alliance and Tate McGhehey of Spearfish SD. They each win $75 and the $1000 winner is Pat Nelson of Alliance.
Reese Megli, a 5th grade student at St. Agnes, received an Honorable Mention in the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics 2013 Aviation Art Contest. He will be honored at a ceremony in Lincoln on Saturday, April 13 at the Nation Guard Base in the Operations Building. Congratulation to Reese!
A reminder that the second Box Top for Education contest will run this month.
Parents, if you have not returned your letters of intent please do so ASAP.
Thank to the 8th grade class for leading The Stations of the Cross last Friday for the entire school. You did a fine job! Many of the boys had planned to leave for a basketball tournament and chose to stay and pray with the rest of the school. This is just an example of the super kids we have at our school.
The St. Agnes Foundation 50/50 drawing was held last Thursday evening. Congratulations to all of the winners. The Foundation does so much for the school. St. Agnes would not exist without it. The next time you see one of the board members, please let them know they are appreciated. Board members include Fr. Lou Nollette, Sr. Joan Linenbrink, Edna Broad, Mick McCarthy, John McGhehey, Bob Placek, Dan Oligmueller, Tom Cyza and Dan Kusek.
Have a great week!
