Lincoln is the happiest place in the United States…at least according to the 2012 Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, which is based on the scores in six measures of well-being.
Lincoln topped 188 other metropolitan areas in the poll, which surveyed nearly 354,000 respondents ages 18 and older. The city scored best in the work environment category…where it jumped from 118 to #1.
Nebraska came in at #7 among the states, one spot higher than in 2011. Omaha came in at 27th in the metropolitan category. Hawaii was #1 among the states, with West Virginia last.
