
Chadron girls’ basketball team traveled to Alliance on Tuesday night to play Gordon-Rushville in subdistricts and came away with a 56-29 win, against the Mustangs.
The Lady Cardinals only trailed for a few minutes in the first quarter, and then went on a 22-1 scoring route that included a 13-7 first quarter lead, and a score of 29-8 halftime score. The Cardinals then cruised in the third, outscoring the Mustang’s by 32 to end the third quarter 46-14. Chadron won 56-29.
The Lady Cardinals were led by Briley Hannaford and Alia Brennan in scoring; Briley had a team high of 16 points, while Alia Brennan came in with 11 points including 9 of 10 from the free throw line.
Chadron will play again on Valentine’s Day against Kimball in the subdistrict final. The Kimball Longhorns got by the Mitchell Tigers by a score of 54-52.
