
The Sidney Red Raiders took the Lady Cardinals down to the wire and Chadron squeaked by 45-42 on Friday night in Sidney, while the Red Raiders Boys beat Chadron, 60-36.
The Lady Cardinals struggled at times against Sidney, although some key players were in foul trouble and saw limited playing time. Ashlea Kerr did not play due to an injured knee; Maggie Earney was not able to come off the bench tonight due to her injured hamstring.
The Red Raiders came out hot to lead 13-9 after the first quarter. By halftime, Sidney was holding on for a two point lead, 19-17. After halftime, Chadron would go on a little run, making the score 36-27 by the end of the third quarter. The Lady Red Raiders would make it very interesting in the fourth quarter coming up just short. Chadron won, 45-42.
Chadron was led in scoring with a double double by Bailea Kerr who had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Briley Hannaford would help out with 12 points. Sarah Mahr scored 21 for Sidney in the loss.
Sidney got out to a fast start, outscoring Chadron by 11 points, 13-2. At the break, Sidney led, 28-10. At the end of the third quarter the Red Raiders extended their lead to 19 for a score of 43-24. The final score was 60-36.
It was all Sidney in Friday night’s game as the Red Raiders made 11 three pointers on the night to win in dominating fashion. Sidney was led in scoring by Paxton Ehler with 28 points. Spencer Eliason scored 12 points for Chadron.

The next game the Chadron girls will play, will be against Gordon-Rushville at subdistricts. The game will be played on Tuesday night starting at 5 p.m. at Alliance High School. The boys will play next onThursday at Red Cloud.
