A wildfire burning near Wheatland, Wy. grew to 24,000 acres and prompted evacuations on its southern and eastern flanks, authorities said Thursday. …But firefighters, who are contending with rugged terrain and dry, windy weather, managed to contain about a third of the blaze as of Thursday morning.
