Kenneth L. Luce, 74

Kenneth L. Luce, 74, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Hemingford
surrounded by his family after an eleven month battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born December 16, 1943 in Alliance, Nebraska to Gerald and Dessie
(Jones) Luce.

Kenneth married Linda Kampbell on July 12, 1964 at the St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Alliance.  Together they lived in Hemingford and Kenneth worked
on the faily farm west of Hemingford until his retirement.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, where he also served in many
board positions, committees and volunteered.  He served on the Box Butte County
Fair Board, the Box Butte County Planning Commission, Box Butte County Weed
Board, the Village of Hemingford Board, the Shriner’s, Pheasant’s Forever, Camp
Norwesca Board and also served on various 4-H committees.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Luce of Hemingford; his children, Henry Kampbell
of Hemingford and Darcy (Ryan) Hansen of Grand Island; his grandchildren, Jens,
Gaven and Dane Hansen; and special nieces and nephew, Angela Kelley, Stephanie
Dancer, Robyn Mathe and Tim Munger.  He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne
Conklin of Westminster, CO; his brothers, Russell (Barbara) Luce of Gering and
Harold Luce of Lewellen; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in
death by his parents and his brother Lawrence Luce.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the United
Methodist Church in Hemingford.  Pastor Esther Achi will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hemingford United Methodist
Church elevator fund.
