The Ride into History Youth Camp will be held at the Knight Museum June 8 through June 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Chautauqua event. There a limited number of spaces for interested children from 4th through 8th grade. The youngsters will choose a local person from Alliance’s history, develop a five minute program and then portray their character on Friday, June 12 in the Chautauqua tent. Big Blue Bay will host a swim meet on Saturday, June 6 which will host swimmers from Alliance, Bridgeport, Rushville, Torrington, Hemingford and Sidney. Due to that event, Big Blue Bay will not be open to the public on Saturday. For additional information please contact the Shana Brown at 762-2384.
Sky View Golf Course will be hosting the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department Scramble Saturday, June 6 beginning at 12:00 noon. The course will be open for use by the general public all day.
A fireworks retail permit must be obtained prior to Friday, June 19th for anyone wishing to sell fireworks in the City of Alliance. Please contact Fire Chief Troy Shoemaker at 762-5400 for an application. There will be no fee for the permit. When applying for the permit, an approved copy of the State Fireworks License will be required.
The Utility Customer Service office would like to remind customers to check the payment due dates on their utility bills as the payment dates have changed.
The Route 385 Cruisers annual Car Show and Rod Run event will be held in Central Park on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7. Yellowstone Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets and 9th Street between Yellowstone and Niobrara Avenues will be closed during the event.
An organizational meeting for a Friday Night Couples League will be held at Sky View Golf Course tonight at 7:00 p.m.
