Dear Parents and Students:
Prayers are needed for Brian Gould. He has been very ill and will be recovering for quite a while. We are thankful that he is home from the hospital.
Congratulations to the second grade for receiving their First Eucharist the Sunday after Easter. The weather outside was not very nice but the ceremony and the students were beautiful. I’m proud of all of you!
Fr. Lou has announced that he will retire. That is good news for him but sad news for us. He is a very wise, compassionate and humble person. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I have great respect for him. I hope he enjoys retirement and stops by to see us often. The new Priest will be Fr. John Kakkuzhiyil. He will be here to meet the students, at the last school Mass of the year, on Friday, May 16.
The Spring Music Program was wonderful! Thank you Mrs. Higgins and all of our students for the wonderful entertainment.
The following track stars were recognized for breaking school records at the Torrington Track Meet on April 12: Jacob Ackerman, Tristan Bleisch, Zach Placek, Eric Pollack, Nolan Sughroue, Emerson Cyza, Clara Eck, MeganOligmueller, Ryley Rolls, Cameron Wood and Kysen Clyburn. Peyton Pinedo, Lane Applegarth and Konnor Farritor broke two records that day. Nice job, Crusaders!
At the Panhandle Conference Track Meet on May 3, the St. Agnes Girls’ took first place and the St. Agnes Boys’ team placed second. So, this year, our girls are Panhandle Conferences Champions in volleyball, basketball and track. I think that is called a Triple Crown. Our boys were the Champs in basketball and second in track. Great job
Crusaders!
Thank you to Mrs. Farritor, Mrs. Kusek and the kindergarten class as the May Crowning was beautiful! Thank you to Mrs Weems and the fourth grade for their dancing skills. They did a great job winding the Maypole. What a fun day!
We had a nice turnout for Kindergarten Round up/Visiation days. Right now we have 18 kindergartners for the 2014-2015 year.
The bulbs we planted last Fall are blooming along the fence. They look beautiful. Even though it was a hard winter, we need to be thankful for the moisture when we look at the beautiful flowers.
Thank you to Kari Farritor and Steve Rolls for the time they donated to St. Agnes by serving on the school board. That is a tough job, and both of you did it well. Thank you to all of the school board for the support and guidance this year. It has been a great year.
The first grade class is this year’s winner for Pushing Pennies. They collected $111.14 in pennies. They are being rewarded with a class pizza party. Thanks to all who sent their pennies.
Just a reminder that there are several students who have lunch charges. Lunch charges must be paid before the end of the school year. Several families still need to purchase scrip this year to meet the minimum amounts on their contracts. Contact the school if you have questions. Good news in the scrip department: Dairy Queen scrip is now available in $10 and $25 denominations. This is for our local Dairy Queen only.
All 7th grade parents need to help with the graduation reception on Friday evening, May 9. Please be at the Lyceum by 7 PM.
Graduation is Friday, May 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 6 PM. We have the opportunity to congratulate our eighth grade class for all the wonderful accomplishments they made this year. However, we also have to say goodbye to a great group of kids. Our eighth graders are: Jacob Adamson, Lane Applegarth, Brigitte Blankenship, Dani Carter, Cameron Collins, Chloe Herrera, Dylan Horton, Bailey Johnson, Madisen McCance, Josie Otto, Peyton Pinedo, Cherokee Purviance, Bradan Seidler, and Ashlee Walleson. You are great leaders and you will be missed! God Bless you!
