The Cheyenne, Morrill, and Scotts Bluff county fairs are among 10 in Nebraska offering hands-on carnival games intended to teach about commodities.
The 4-H Commodity Carnival is debuting this summer at county and state fairs in 11 states, including Nebraska.
The mini-games were developed by the Ohio State University Cooperative Extension as a way to introduce the concepts of agriculture futures, options and commodity training. The games are targeted at families and youths between ages 8 and 14.
The other Nebraska fairs offering the 4-H Commodity Carnival are Adams, Cedar, Lincoln, Cuming, Cherry, Otoe, and the Dakota-Thurston county fairs.
