Josh McCance went 4-1 at 133 pounds and defeated two of his teammates en route to a third place finish. Making the invite even sweeter for McCance was the fact he defeated Colby Watters of Colorado Mines for third place after Watters defeated him in the second round.

Also earning a third place finish for the Eagles was Tyler Smart, who went 3-1 at 165. Smart, a sophomore from Wheatland, Wyo., started the tourney off strongly by earning a 3-0 decision over Colorado Mesa’s Willy Holdren. Two weeks ago in Chadron during an exhibition match, Holdren defeated Smart.

Also for the Eagles, Dustin Stodola, who is redshirting this season, went 3-2 at 133 and finished in fifth.

Bryce Wiedeman won four matches, including pins in three of his victories, and ended in fifth at 157. Wiedeman, a true freshman is now 16-12 this season and has pinned 12 of his foes.
