CHADRON – The Chadron State track team had another strong performance Friday in their Alumni Twighlight meet at the Nelson Physical Activity Center, posting 6 provisional qualifying marks for the D-II indoor national meeting and one school record.
The record came in the women’s pole vault, where senior Kaelie Jelden cleared 11-7-3/4 to break Megan Harrell’s 2-year old mark by 3/4.”
Jelden set the women’s outdoor record of 11-9 ¼ last season, and her brother Kolten…who transfer to CSC this year after completing an engineering degree at South Dakota School of Mines…set the Eagles’ men’s indoor pole vault mark last week at 15-7. He won the event again Friday.
Junior Alyssa Norton had career best marks while winning both the shot put at 46-6 and the 20-pound weight throw at 53-¾. Both are provisional qualifying marks, as were the winning marks

by 3 CSC men…Alex Graham in the 60 meters, Dean Francis in the 200, and Charith Kapukotuwa in the 35-pound weight throw.
Senior Trae Patch swept the women’s 60 and 200-meters, with the Lady Eagles getting victories as well from Meagan Nahrwold in the 400, Shelby Guy in the 800, and Chelsea Murray in the 60-meter high hurdles.
Other winners for the men were Phil Rivera, 400; Domingo Torres, mile; Donnie Butler, long jump; and the 4×400 relay team of Rivera, Xavier Kvistad, Frederick Culp, and Gavan Archibald.
Trisha Koch of Black Hills State was a triple winner…taking the long jump and high jump while anchoring the Yellow Jackets victorious 4×400 relay. Her teammate, Shelby Tollefson, won the triple jump, and Myrissa Clark of Gillette College won the 5000.
Two members of the South Dakota Mines men’s teams were winners as Taylor Buse captured the 800 and Everett Thomas the 5000. The lone man from Black Hill State to finish first was Jacob Wilson in the high jump.
Three Chadron State athletes who are redshirting this winter competed unattached and won events. Karl McFarlane captured both the men’s 60-meter hurdles and the triple jump, Cody Hunt won the men’s shot put and Ashley Riesen won the women’s mile mile.
